The Gates Foundation was looking to inspire younger generations to get involved in their campaign to eradicate polio. Polio vaccines have been around for decades, and in 99% of the world, polio no longer decimates childhood populations. But in that other 1% of the world it continues to wreak havoc, year after year. We have a cure, we just need to get it there. But how to get young people involved in a disease they may not have even heard of? We worked with the Gates Foundation to come up with a social networking strategy that would center on a Facebook campaign. The challenge was to create a Facebook page that would be eye-catching, but was still in keeping with the elegant look of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. We arrived at a look that is cool and understated, eye-catching and clean.
